Côte d’Ivoire: les obsèques d’Henri Konan Bédié débuteront le 20 mai

Les funérailles d’Henri Konan Bédié auront lieu du 20 mai au 02 juin 2024. Ils se dérouleront en plusieurs étapes entre Abidjan et son village natal de Pépressou.

C’est ce qu’ont annoncé le chef de l’Etat Alassane Ouattara et le président du Parti démocratique de Côte d’Ivoire, PDCI, Tidjane Thiam, lors d’une rencontre lundi.

Henri Konan Bédié, deuxième président de la Côte d’Ivoire (1993-1999), est décédé le 1er août 2023 à l’âge de 89 ans. Il a été remplacé en décembre à la tête du PDCI par Tidjane Thiam, banquier international de 61 ans, qui avait été son ministre dans les années 90.

Incertitude du paysage politique

Le contexte politique ivoirien est déjà en ébullition en vue de la présidentielle d’octobre 2025. Alassane Ouattara n’a pas encore dévoilé ses intentions, tandis que Tidjane Thiam se positionne comme le favori du PDCI.

La déclaration de candidature de Laurent Gbagbo samedi dernier ajoute un élément supplémentaire à l’incertitude du paysage politique ivoirien.
