CAN 2024 : le Nigeria s’impose face à la Guinée-Bissau et termine 2e de son groupe

Le Nigeria s’est imposé face à la Guinée-Bissau 1-0, lundi, pour leur dernier match du 1er tour. Les Super Eagles terminent à la 2e place du groupe A, derrière la Guinée équatoriale, et sont donc directement qualifiés pour les 8es. Les Lycaons de la Guinée Bissau, déjà éliminés avant le match, repartent de cette CAN sans le moindre point.

Les Super Eagles auraient pu obtenir un penalty à la demi-heure de jeu, lorsque la frappe de Sam Chukwueze a été contrée par le bras décollé de Nanu, mais la VAR n’a pas aidé l’arbitre Bouchra Karboubi, à gérer ce fait de jeu. Le Nigeria a ensuite monopolisé la balle et s’est créé une flopée d’occasion pour se mettre à l’abri, mais ses attaquants ont manqué de réalisme devant le but.

Dans une CAN à 24 sélections, les Super Eagles devront attendre pour connaître leur futur adversaire en huitièmes de finale.
