Libye : sept migrants dont trois enfants retrouvés sur une plage

Sept migrants clandestins, dont trois enfants, ont été retrouvés morts sur la plage de Qasr Al-Akhyarà situé à l’est de la capitale libyenne Tripoli.

Cette découverte a été faite par des bénévoles du Croissant rouge libyen, disant craindre un bilan plus lourd.

L’annonce a été faite ce dimanche à travers un communiqué sans évoquer les détails sur les circonstances de leur noyade.

Il faut noter que la plage de Qasr Al-Akhyarà située à environ 300 km des côtes italiennes, constitue l’un des principaux points de départ en Afrique du nord pour les migrants, en majorité provenant d’Afrique subsaharienne mais aussi d’Asie et du Moyen-Orient, qui tentent la traversée de la Méditerranée au péril de leur vie.

Selon l’Organisation internationale pour les migrations (OIM) des Nations unies, plus de 2.100 migrants en situation irrégulière sont morts ou ont disparu en tentant de traverser la Méditerranée pour rejoindre l’Europe l’année dernière.
