Crise au Niger : la tentative de médiation de Faure Gnassingbé agace la CEDEAO

Informé de la tentative de médiation en coulisses entamée par Faure Gnassingbé, le président nigérian Bola Tinubu, semble agacé. De son côté, Macky Sall aussi n’a pas apprécié de ne pas avoir été préalablement consulté par le président togolais.

Faure Gnassingbé s’est rendu dans la plus grande discrétion à Niamey dans la soirée du 8 août. Il a été accueilli par le général Salifou Modi et le colonel Ibro Amadou Bacharou, tous deux membres du Conseil national pour la sauvegarde de la patrie (CNSP). Les deux hommes auraient été rejoints par Abdourahamane Tchiani. Le nouvel homme fort du Niger se serait ensuite entretenu un peu moins d’une heure avec le président togolais. Des sources indiquent que ces discussions ont été précédées de rencontres préliminaires entre des émissaires togolais et la junte nigérienne, notamment au Burkina Faso.
