L’armée rwandaise indique avoir tué un « soldat » congolais et arrêté deux autres

L’armée rwandaise affirme avoir tué un soldat de la RDC et arrêté deux autres qui ont, selon elle, franchi la frontière entre les deux pays.

Selon les Forces de défense rwandaises (RDF), l’incident s’est déroulé vers 11h, heure de Kigali, ce mardi 16 janvier 2024. D’après le communiqué, les trois soldats armés congolais ont franchi la frontière dans le district de Rubavu, plus précisément dans la cellule de Rukoko, frontalière avec le Nord-Kivu en RDC et tout proche de la ville de Goma. Le soldat abattu, aurait ouvert le feu sur les militaires rwandais.

Plusieurs incidents frontaliers ont été dénoncés par les deux pays depuis ces deux dernières années ; en mars 2023, le Rwanda avait déjà affirmé avoir neutralisé un soldat congolais qui aurait tiré au niveau de la frontière entre les villes de Rubavu et Goma.

Kinshasa, de son côté, accuse régulièrement l’armée rwandaise d’incursions sur son territoire destinées à renforcer le groupe armé du M23, des accusations toujours démenties par Kigali.
